Stranddalen Turisthytte is often called "Pearl in Ryfylkeheiane". The cabin is located in beautiful mountain scenery 1000 meters above sea level. In the summer, they offer their fantastic three-course dinners.

Stranddalen Turisthytte (tourist cabin) – “the pearl in Ryfylkeheiane”, is a mountain cabin a 2-3 hour hike from Øvre Moen in the Gullingen mountain area. The annex has 12 beds in addition to the loft. Starting from the cabin, you can choose between several day hikes in the area ranging from simple, child-friendly hikes to demanding summit hikes. The cabin is also a natural starting point and place to stay on a roundtrip through the area. You can find trail and hiking suggestions at UT.no.

In the summer season, the cabin is staffed by a friendly host who welcomes you to the cabin, takes care of the visitors and serves good home-cooked meals based on local ingredients. A couple of times a week they also serve dinner, and it is popular to take a day trip to the cabin these days. Stranddalen also has a license to sell alcohol.

Stranddalen is suitable as a day trip or as part of a larger tour between the various tourist huts in Suldalsheiane.
