Applying for a building permit
For larger projects such as the construction of a new cabin, you need a responsible applicant for the project, i.e. a construction company or similar that is responsible for the application, design and execution. Hiking network and ski slopes
In Suldal you can enjoy the view from magnificent summits such as Hellandsnuten and Napen, visit beautiful tourist cabins or take a stroll along elvar, lake and fjordar in our hamlets. During the winter season, you will find miles of ski slopes, ski lifts and ski trails in the Gullingen area. Turkart for each individual hamlet can be obtained at the Suldal tourist office and in selected shops.
Hunting and fishing
In the municipality you will find a number of beautiful hunting areas, fishing lakes, the largest salmon river in Western Norway and fjords that offer a rich variety of fish species. You are free to fish with a rod in the fjords, but you must be aware that there are eigne reglar close to estuaries. In Suldal you can also visit the oldest salmon studio in Norway.
Hydroelectric power and architecture
Major power developments such as Røldal-Suldal Kraft and the Ulla Førre development have turned Suldal into a power giant that accounts for 8 per cent of annual power production in Norway. Ulla-Førre was at one time Northern Europe's largest power development, where Blåsjø is Norway's largest dam facility. During the summer season, a visitja area.
