In 2022, several actors from the travel industry and the farming industry in Suldal came together to strengthen our municipality as a food destinations. The collaboration got the name "Culinary Treasures of Suldal", and will last for a one year period. The focus of the work is to ensure more seminars and networking arenas between the participants, to promote local cuisine in our area as a united brand and to engage in different activities. All work is done with the ambition of creating a stronger link between the two industries, and to offer our guests local, authentic and sustainable tasting experiences that are of high quality and easy to access.
A total of 18 actors are participating in the collaboration. These actors are: Suldalshonning, Ryfylke Fjordhotel & Basecamp, Vatlandsvåg Handel, Fuglestein Fruktgard, Mo Laksegard, KULP, Træ Gården, Landsnes Villsauprodukter, Storstova Gard, Brunsj, Midtsommar, Fatnes Vestre, Energihotellet, Jelsa Hotell, Hanakamneset Gard, Bentes Himabakst, Jelsa Jordbær and Jordnær.
The participants have access to a total of five seminars as a part of the one year project. The first seminar has hosted at Træ Gården in the autumn of 2021, where the participants were presented and the cider collaboration in Hardanger presented. In the spring of 2022, a joint workshop was hosted to establish our joint ambitions for the development of the project "Culinary Treasures of Suldal", where KULP served their own tasting platter of local product. Three seminars are planned during the autumn of 2022.
