Børkjenes Gard is idyllically located in Hamrabøheia with its scenic surroundings and distinctive mountain garden environment. In total, the farm stretched over 8,653 da from the yard all the way to the mountains, and has a total of 40 houses. These are, among other things, the main house, barn, barn, sheep house, hen house, storehouse, mill house, drying house for grain, cable car house, cart house with annex, fire house, forge and sawmill. Most of the houses are from the 18th and 19th centuries, but several houses and stories also stretch further back in time.
The Garden was awarded the Olavsrosa in 2023, a quality mark for a unique experience rooted in Norwegian cultural heritage. They also received Suldal municipality's building conservation award in 2018 for their work in securing the building heritage at Børkjenes through their many small and large restoration projects.
Their premises are suitable for groups from 20 to 150 people, where the løa takes 100-120 people and the barn takes 20-30. They can also use the outdoor area in the yard. For those who wish, you can also combine the gathering on the farm with a tour of the surrounding heath area. The season for renting out banquet halls is May-October.
In collaboration with local catering establishments, they can also offer catering with a focus on short-travelled, local produce.
