Cycle through Støladalen to Finnabuvatnet

Biking

A cycle ride into Støladalen from Nesflaten takes you 830 meters up into Høgfjellet, where you come close to beautiful nature and magnificent dam facilities.

The cycle tour starts in the hamlet of Nesflaten with high mountain walls and Rogaland's largest lake, Suldalsvatnet, as its nearest neighbour. From FV691, take off up the mountain towards Støladalen, where you follow a narrow dirt road for large parts of the 11.3 km long stretch to Finnabuvatnet.

The road was built during the Røldal Suldal Kraft development in the 1960s, which was Norway's largest industrial project at the time. Here you come close to beautiful nature with high mountains, trickling streams and great lookouts. When you get to the top, you will pass along Vasstølvatnet before you get to Finnabuvatnet. The area is suitable for hiking, fishing and swimming. Remember to buy a fishing license and read up on local rules before you start fishing.
