Hiking Demanding

Hellandsnuten towers majestically
over the town of Sand. From the top you can see five fjords: the Sandsfjord,
Hylsfjord, Saudafjord, Vindafjord and Lovrafjord.

The tour starts from Joagarden Kindergarten in Eide, where you can find a car park. The entrance to the Stegåsen hiking area can be found just up the hill above the car park. From here you follow the road up to a crossing tractor road at Jonsokplassen, which you follow up towards the right and turn off to the right at the first opportunity, before you follow the blue mark and the path further up. Several parts of this trip can be demanding where it is particularly steep. You still get the reward at the top as you can take in one of the best panoramic views in the entire region! Remember to sign up in the turboka that is by the cairn!

For those who prefer a slightly quieter trip, you can also try Stegåsen around or Eidsliane in the same hiking area.

Facts about the trip:

Time: 6 hours

Rating: Demanding (red/black)

Highest point: 740 m

Access: By car to Eide på Sand
