Gullingen is an attractive recreation area during both summer and winter rich in nature and culture.
In the past, the area was used for hunting and summer pasture. In recent times people have built cabins here.
The vegetation is dominated by mountain birch, interspersed by marshes. Fox, hare and stoat are rather common, while golden eagles keep a watchful eye from the sky. Moose are becoming a more frequent sight. The tree line is at 700 metres altitude.
The area is well-suited for a variety of outdoor adventures. An extensive trail network makes it easy to find a suitable hike, regardless of your age and preference. During the winter, numerous trails are prepared for cross-country skiing, some of them illuminated. For the latest information on snow conditions and ski trail, please see gullingen.no/ski-loypeinfo
