If you visiting Sandsfossen and the
Salmon Studio, do consider visiting Fossheim and enjoy a quiet moment on a
bench in its gardens.
Fossheim
was built in 1936–1937 by local sheriff Rasmus Rasmussen. The house included
his residence and office, and it had a jail in the basement. The architect was
Arnstein Arneberg (1882-1961), one of Norway’s most highly reputed in the first
half of the 20th century. Arneberg’s works include Oslo City Hall,
and the interior of the United Nations building. The Municipality of Suldal
municipality purchased the building in the 1970.
Nearby
attractions are Sandsfossen falls and Salmon Studio, and the Suldalslågen
river.
