Bleskestadmoen is located on a lush embankment and is Stavanger Tourist Association's oldest cabin. In earlier times, Suldølers and Austmen met to trade horses at Bleskestadmoen.

The cabin is a two-hour hike from Bleskestad. In 2001, the old cabin (built in 1891) was restored to its original form, and a completely new main cabin was built. In collaboration with the landowner, the old house and barn were also restored. The buildings are beautifully situated on an alpine meadow surrounded by birch forest and bare mountain terrain. Fishing is possible in the Bleskestad River. STF (Stavanger Turistforening) membership cards serve as fishing permits, while others need to purchase fishing permits.

There are many trails to and from Bleskestadmoen. You can approach it from the north via Holmavatnhytta, Breive, and Jonstøl/Mostøl. The shortest route is from Bleskestad. A simple round trip can involve parking your car at Bleskestad and arranging a taxi to Sandvatn. From Sandvatn to Bleskestadmoen, it takes 2 hours. The next day, follow a marked trail back to Bleskestad, also 2 hours.

Bleskestadmoen is a self-service cabin with a food storage area and is accessible throughout the year. Guests are responsible for their own cooking, cleaning, and tidying up.
