The architectural round tour

Sand-Sauda-Røldal-Nesflaten-Sand

Discover award-winning architectural sights combined with beautiful viewpoints close the fjord and mountain areas. Stops on the route includes Høsebrua, Ostasteidn, Ventesteinen at Ropeid quay, Allmannajuvet, Røldal Stave Church, hydropower architecture at Nesflaten and Guggedalsloftet. Sand-Marvik-Vatlandsvåg-Hebnes-Jelsa-Sand

Get magnificent views over the fjord landscape on quiet roads along the fjord peninsula of Ropeidhalvøya. Make a stop at Markvik or Hebnes for a dip in the ocean or enjoy an ice cream in the sun at Vatlandsvåg. Go back on the same road or take the ferry to Ryfylkes best kept fjord village Jelsa. There are many great hikes and cycling routes along the way.

From fjord landscape to mountain scenery round tour

Sand-Gullingen-Jøsenfjorden-Erfjord-Sand

It is only 30 minutes from the fjord to the mountain areas in Suldal. Start the drive down by the fjord village of Sand and see the vegetation change as you rise to higher elevations. Breathe in the fresh mountain air at Gullingen before you continue down the road less travelled to the magnificent Jøsenfjorden fjord with beautiful views as you get back to Suldal. The area is great for hiking, cycling and fishing.

Village life and bird sanctuary round tour

Sand-Erfjord-Bogsund-Jelsa-Sand

Jelsa is the best-preserved fjord village in Ryfylke, with neighboring Erfjord village offering unique bird watching opportunities. Make a visit to both villages in this day tour on the roads at the edge of the mountain, with beautiful views of town life, farms and fjords. Jelse Church, Jelsa school museum and the museum farm Hålandstunet are open on selected days. The area is also great for hiking, cycling and swimming.

Spend a day in wild landscape where you feel that you have nature all to yourself! Drive on narrow and charming roads as you pass tall mountains, lakes and waterfalls to the hidden gem of Suldalsheiane: the Blåsjø water reservoir. The coastal and fjord landscape day tour

The passenger ferry to Stavanger is frequently used by the locals when going to the city for work or to run errands. The journey will open up the fjord landscape from with a new perspective, watching the steep mountains and small fjord villages passing you as you get carried out the fjord. Stop at one of the fjord villages on the route or go all the way out to Stavanger before you take the afternoon or evening boat back to Sand.

From fjords to glacier adventure

Sand-Jondal-Rosendal-Ølen-Sand

Go from quiet town life by the fjord to hikes on the glacier in less than a day! On this day tour to the glacier Folgefonna. From Jondal they offer different hiking experiences on the glacier. Go back to Sand or make a longer trip via the Manor House Rosendal from 1665.
