Hiking Demanding

Grytenuten, the highest peak this
far out on the coast, offers a magnificent panorama of the archipelago.

 

Alt 1. Østebøneset/Melenuten/ev.
Fossanibba/Grytenuten

A strenuous mountain walk with a net climb of 800 metres. Start where you park along the municipal road at Østebøneset (NB no parking at the timber storage site).

 

The hike ascends steeply along the tractor road to Vikastølsvatnet lake. Continue up to Melenuten, where the trail winds into hilly terrain towards Grytenuten. Optional detour to Fossanibba for an amazing view. From the summit you can take the same way down, or choose the trail towards Kølvikstølen.

Alt 2. Kjølvikstølen / Grytenuten

Park
at Kjølvikstølen. This is a relatively demanding mountain walk with a net climb
of 800 metres. If you are eager for an additional challenge, you can continue
to Østebøneset.
